The mini fits perfectly on my desk at work and I only have possibly one or two cups a day. My desk is so full of paper and the mini does not take up much room. How much water you put in depends on how strong you want your coffee. I use what is a *normal* amount for me. The filter for the grounds is very easy to clean.
